Geography

Thailand with its 513,000 square kilometres borders on Myanmar (Burma) in the west, Laos in the north, Cambodia in the east and Malaysia in the south. This represents quite a substantial part of Southeast Asia. Thailand's shape is reminiscent of the head of an elephant. Its 66 million inhabitants are spread over five main regions with a total of 76 provinces. The Eastern Seaboard, including the province of Chonburi, where Silverhill is located, is in economic terms next to the capital Bangkok definitely Thailand's most prosperous region.
The province of Chonburi borders onto the Golf of Thailand which is a sheltered stretch of sea, that is never threatened by tsunamis.
Sattahip, in the south of the province, is home to one of the few deep sea ports of the Royal Navy, and in Laem Chabang, just north of Pattaya, you'll find Thailand's largest commercial port.
